Ofcom is proposing to make changes to its BBC Performance and Public Service Media tracking surveys. The two trackers are used by the regulator to collect data about audiences’ views on the BBC’s performance, and their perceptions and attitudes towards public service broadcasters. After a review of both surveys Ofcom now says it wants to combine them both into a single tracker. Both surveys will continue in their current form in 2024, and the new combined survey will begin in April 2025.Last June, Ofcom reduced the frequency of some of its consumer data tracking.
