Deadline: Channel 4’s Head Of Creative Diversity Exits

Story from Deadline:

Naomi Sesay, Channel 4‘s head of creative diversity, is stepping down after three years.

Sesay was tasked with shaping inclusion initiatives at the UK network and strengthening ties with creators from diverse backgrounds. She replaced Babita Bahal in 2022, reporting to Emma Hardy, Channel 4’s director of commissioning operations.

Channel 4 confirmed Sesay’s departure, but declined to comment further.

Sesay is the latest Channel 4 executive to head for the exit door in a year of leadership change at the broadcaster.

Channel 4 chairman Ian Cheshire, CEO Alex Mahon, and drama chief Ollie Madden have all announced their departure. Other leavers include Matt Risley, Channel 4‘s YouTube supremo who founded and runs the broadcaster’s 4Studio agency.

Sesay has had two spells at Channel 4 after previously serving as the company’s on-screen diversity executive between 2018 and 2020. She previously worked at the Media Trust.
