Advanced Television: Sky expands Isle of Wight coverage

Story from Advanced Television:

Sky has announced it will continue to air the Isle of Wight Festival as well as being the headline sponsor in a new, multi-year deal. The exclusive partnership will see content from the festival broadcast across three Sky TV channels for the first time – Sky Arts, Sky Showcase and Sky Mix – as well as immersive and interactive on-site activations.

Sky Arts has been broadcaster partner of the Isle of Wight Festival since 2011 and this year the festival will be shown across multiple Sky TV channels, as well as highlights being shown on Sky TV’s You Tube platform, giving audiences an exclusive insight into the event with behind-the-scenes content with artists and festival goers.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2025 takes place from June 19th-22nd with a lineup that included headliners Sting, Stereophonics and Justin Timberlake, along with the likes of James, Faithless, Supergrass, The Corrs, Busted, Olly Murs, The Lightning Seeds, Razorlight, Yard Act, Pale Waves, Amy Macdonald, Paul Heaton and many more.

Sky presents The Isle of Wight Festival was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director, Unscripted Originals at Sky for Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios & Chief Content Officer for Sky. The commissioning editor is Dwayne Eaton. The broadcast will be produced by CC Lab; Executive Producer Jason Hocking, Series Producer Mark Thorne, Producer Celia Moore and Directors Mathew Amos, Ed Coleman and Edie Amos.

Edgar-Jones commented: “The Isle of Wight Festival is one of the UK’s most iconic music events, and we’re incredibly proud to bring it to Sky viewers like never before. This new headline sponsorship marks a major milestone for Sky as our first major festival collaboration – and it’s a perfect fit. With three channels showcasing the live experience and exclusive behind-the-scenes content on YouTube, we’re unlocking even more ways for music fans to connect with their favourite artists, whether they’re watching from the front row or their sofa. It’s going to be an unforgettable summer of music.”

Hocking added: “It’s a privilege to once again be producing the coverage of one of our country’s finest festivals that brings such rich history and iconic performances. Sky’s sponsorship this year is a perfect fit and together we’re exploring new creative and technical angles to elevate how audiences experience live music from the festival. With Justin Timberlake making his debut appearance, and the return of giants like Sting, Stereophonics and Faithless, we’re excited to deliver coverage that immerses fans in the moment, whether they’re watching on TV or online. Sky presents the Isle of Wight Festival will be one of the most significant live music broadcasts of the year. Across three days, viewers will experience over 17 hours of live coverage from one of the UK’s most iconic festivals. With performances from legendary artists, contemporary chart-toppers, and exciting emerging acts, this broadcast will bring the energy and atmosphere of the festival directly into homes across the nation.”
