Morninggate - Daily Mail: NTAs fans spot Holly Willoughby jumping in front of Alison Hammond

Story from Daily Mail:

National Television Awards fans have spotted the toe-curling moment Holly Willoughby appeared to jump in front of Alison Hammond to hug Jay Blades.

The presenter, 42, who was without her longtime presenter partner Phillip Schofield for the first time, rushed to embrace the star after The Repair Shop brought an end to This Morning's 13-year winning streak to scoop the Best Daytime prize.

Footage of the exchange surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, and one fan later posted: 'NTAs repair shop went to hug Alison but Holly had to jump in first. Always jumping the queue.'

A second said: 'Go the Repair Shop well deserved. So humble and you didnt need to skip a queue or fall out with each other.'

One fan also said: 'The Repair Shop. Wholesome television. Honest television. Richly deserved win.'

Another penned: 'Holly looks likes she's about to burst into tears when the repair shop won the award.'

Viewers saw Jay hug the presenting duo as he took to the stage to accept the Daytime Award.

This Morning wasn't immune from the outspoken audience during the ceremony, and was booed as presenters Roman Kemp and Jermaine Jenas introduced their nomination.

It comes as the ITV morning programme continues to face backlash amid the furore of the Phillip Schofield affair and lost out to BBC's The Repair Shop.

Host Jay Blades encouraged the crowd to cheer as the show's team took to the stage at The O2 and took a picture of the moment as he noted it was a 'rarity' for them to be winning the prize.

Blades thanked those who voted and the team behind the show, adding: 'I would like to salute my experts, they are my family.' 12-He also praised his fellow nominees at This Morning, The Chase and Loose Women, saying: "We're the new kids on the block ad I'm glad we've won this time.

'I know it won't be a regular thing so thank you.'

It was a night of what ifs for Alison Hammond and flagship show This Morning.
