Morninggate - Daily Mail: Lorraine Kelly appears to distance herself from Holly Willoughby

Story from Daily Mail:

Lorraine Kelly has appeared to distance herself from her fellow ITV presenter Holly Willoughby in the wake of the Phillip Schofield scandal.

ITV was thrown into turmoil earlier this year following 61-year-old Philip's admission to an 'unwise but not illegal' relationship with a much younger colleague, with the host eventually stepping down from ITV altogether.

In the months surrounding the scandal, both This Morning and Holly, 42, have faced much criticism despite her insistence she knew nothing of Phillip's affair, with her pals allegedly claiming she has 'nothing to hide'.

Holly, who hosted alongside Phillip from 2009 onwards, has continued to present the show with a series of co-stars, while MPs have called on ITV bosses to address claims of toxicity and bullying behind the scenes.

Now Lorraine, 63, has alluded to a distanced relationship with Holly following the controversy.

Speaking to new! Magazine, she was asked if she had given her ITV co-star any advice after the scandal.

Lorraine replied: 'No, no, honestly, we are so separate. And I haven't been in [at work], for, gosh, you know, that's the first time I've thought about work.

'But no, we're honestly just getting on with it. Honestly, I can't really say any more than that.'

Lorraine has taken an extended break from her ITV show this summer, with Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh taking over until September.

Last month she revealed that her elderly mother Anne, 81, has been admitted into University Hospital Monklands, in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Lorraine tweeted: 'Having spent a lot of time over the past few days with my mum in UHMonklands hospital I’ve seen again just how kind, caring, hard working, funny and downright fabulous our NHS workers are.

'Thank you doesn’t begin to cover it.'

She did not go into further detail about her mum's condition.

But Anne was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome in February, a condition that stops the kidneys functioning properly which also saw her hospitalised.

It comes after it was revealed that Lorraine has snatched Holly's ITV queen crown, after out-earning the presenter by more than £2million.

The Scottish star has assets worth almost £4million while Holly has logged just £1.5million, according to their companies' respective accounts.

Lorraine's firm Albatel has total assets worth £4.2million and net assets of £3.9million after paying off creditors, according to accounts filed on June 22.

The assets include £2.7million in a bank account, more than £1million owed by debtors, and an investment portfolio worth around £350,000, The Sun reported.

Her thriving company also made a profit of around £500,000, according to the accounts filed on Companies House.

She proved herself to have out-earned many of her ITV co-stars, including This Morning host Holly.

The most recent accounts for Holly's company Roxy Media Ltd on Companies House, filed in November 2021, showed the star logged assets of £1.5million.

Holly was also out-earned by Ruth Langsford, who filed assets of £3.3million with her company Hey Ho, while her former co-star Phillip logged £2.5million with Fistral Productions.

Holly's TV gigs are paid through Roxy Media, which she owns 80 per cent of. Her husband of 16 years, TV producer Dan Baldwin, owns the remaining 20 per cent.

The TV personality earns around £700,000-a-year fronting ITV shows including This Morning and Dancing on Ice.
