A former England international is joining the star-studded list of Sky Sports pundits for the forthcoming season, and will make his first appearance on Sunday.The 33-year-old former top-flight striker played for five English clubs in his senior career, with two of those meeting in London in one of the first matches he will cover with Sky on Sunday afternoon.Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, Izzy Christiansen, Karen Carney, Micah Richards and Roy Keane will continue their roles - and they will be joined by a new face as Manchester City look to retain their Premier League trophy.Former England international Daniel Sturridge enjoyed a successful playing career, lifting Champions League trophies with both Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as a Premier League title and two FA Cups with the Blues.The Birmingham-born Sturridge said: 'The Premier League season kicks off tonight [Friday] and I am excited to be a part of it all with Sky Sports.'I’m looking forward to using my experience on the pitch and bringing this insight to the fans watching at home.'It is set to be an exciting season ahead and it’s great to be part of the Sky Sports team bringing you all the action.'Sky Sports’ Director of Football Gary Hughes added: 'Daniel has been an outstanding striker for three of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and he’ll bring all of his fantastic playing experience and incredible knowledge of the game to our coverage this season.'We welcome him to the team and all of us at Sky Sports are looking forward to what’s set to be a season full of drama and entertainment.'Sturridge came through the youth system at Manchester City before becoming a senior star in the Premier League.He was on the books at Chelsea between 2009 and 2013, before moving to Liverpool where he spent six years at Anfield. He also had loan spells at Bolton Wanderers in 2011 and West Bromwich Albion in 2018.The Blues host Jurgen Klopp's side in Sunday's 4.30pm kick-off, the second of Sky's matches on Sunday after Brentford host Tottenham.Sturridge also made 26 appearances for the England national team between 2011 and 2017, scoring eight times, as well as representing Great Britain during the 2012 Olympics.
