Story from Broadband TV News:

Two senior executives are stepping down from Warner Bros. Discovery in Germany following the amalgamation of the two companies.

In a statement, Warner Bros. Discovery said Susanne Aigner, Managing Director Discovery Germany & Benelux, is leaving the company “at her own request”, while her colleague Sylvia Rothblum, Country Manager Germany, Austria & Switzerland, WarnerMedia is also leaving after 21 years.

“The merger of Discovery with WarnerMedia to form Warner Bros Discovery is a turning point which I am taking as an opportunity to make my personal decision,” said Aigner.

During her time with Discovery, Aigner integrated both Tele 5 and Eurosport into Discovery’s German business.

Rothblum joined Warner Bros. in 2002 as vice president of German-speaking markets. In 2007, she was promoted to senior vice president, responsible for Warner Bros. Entertainment content licensing and distribution across all platforms in German-speaking Europe. “The past 21 wonderful years at Warner Bros. have been my passion and so much more than just a job. I am so grateful to all the great people I have had the pleasure of working with and who have been with me on this great journey,” she said.

Gerhard Zeiler, President International, Warner Bros. Discovery was warm in his praise, describing Aigner as a “talented leader who is highly respected within the company and throughout the German media industry for her outstanding market expertise and great track record.” On Rothblum he said “Her strategic insight, commercial know how, strong relationships with distribution partners and deep understanding of the markets have added immense value to our business.”
