Radio Today: Neil Sloan returns to the BBC as Managing Editor of Radio Wales

Communicorp UK’s Group Content Director Neil Sloan is joining BBC Radio Wales as Managing Editor.

Neil will leave CCUK where he has held several roles since joining in 2014, most recently heading up the programming teams for their Capital, Heart, Smooth and XS Manchester stations.

He tells RadioToday: “I’m really excited to be joining BBC Radio Wales to lead the talented team and continue to create outstanding content to inform, educate and entertain the audience across Wales.”

“I’m looking forward to working with him as we start an exciting new chapter for BBC Radio Wales.”

Neil’s career highlights include nurturing a young Greg James on Radio 1 and the stable of presenters he has produced ranges from Scott Mills, Fearne Cotton and Vernon Kay to Terry Wogan, Johnnie Walker and Michael Ball.

As an executive producer he has led on documentaries and podcasts for Radio 4, BBC World Service and Radio Wales. He is also the current chair of the Radio Academy in Wales.
