Broadband TV News: Warner Bros. Discovery Sports grows Tour de France audience

Warner Bros. Discovery Sports has recorded its best-ever Tour de France performance in key markets including France, Spain and Norway.

The broadcaster has rights to the international cycling competition in 50 European markets.

Discovery+ grew its Tour de France streaming audience by five times compared to 2021.

Streaming across all digital platforms including the Eurosport App increased by almost a third (32%) year-on-year.

Linear also bucked the wider industry trend, by recording its best pan-Europe Tour de France television performance for five years.

Coverage of all 21 stages of the Tour de France was made available through uninterrupted streaming on discovery+, the Eurosport App and GCN+ in addition to television coverage on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2.

Warner Bros. Discovery Sports has now turned its attention to the inaugural Tour de France Femmes across all platforms.
