The Sun: Major TV change as England’s Autumn International rugby fixtures move to new channel

Story from The Sun:

England will be shown by a new broadcaster in this year's Autumn International fixtures.

Steve Borthwick's side, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are hosting the best from around the world this November.

The Red Rose face mouthwatering clashes at home to New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, as well as Japan.

TNT Sports will be the new home of international rugby this autumn as it shows every match of the Autumn Nations Series, while viewers will also be able to stream online with Discovery+.

TNT has been the leader in broadcasting English club rugby, having been long-term rightsholders of the Guinness Premiership.

However, it is now making a foray into the international game.

TNT has also been linked with the rights to the Six Nations, which could come off terrestrial TV for the first time from 2026.

Andrew Georgiou, President and MD, UK & Ireland and WBD Sports Europe said: “To bring the best of international rugby to our TNT Sports subscribers is hugely exciting and another important moment which demonstrates our premium sports rights offering in the UK and Ireland.

“The Autumn Nations Series gives rugby fans access to world-class battles between the northern and southern hemispheres and is one of the highlights in the rugby calendar.

"We are delighted to further extend our TNT Sports rugby portfolio for fans who already have plenty to look forward to for the rest of this season with Gallagher Premiership Rugby, European club rugby, Premiership Women’s Rugby and the HSBC SVNS Series."

Amazon Prime was the previous broadcaster after taking over from Sky Sports in 2020.

Sky, meanwhile, will have the rights to the all-important British and Irish Lions Tour of Australia next summer.
