UPDATED: Virgin Media UK starts TiVo software update

Digital Spy Forum poster "Andyland" say the following tonight:

It looks as though VM are rolling out a software update for Tivo. I just had a promo appear in the discovery bar.

Among the changes are:
  • A new menu system - browsing by images instead of text -TV shows in On Demand are in a folder called 'Box Sets menu'
  • An updated 'Series Link+' will now include On Demand/Netflix etc episodes and list these in My Shows
  • You can 'Bookmark' an On Demand programme to watch later - when it can then easily be found in My Shows (subject to usual On Demand/catchup availability)
  • If you stop watching an On Demand programme part way through, you can later play it directly from an 'On Demand continue watching' folder (it doesn't specify if it plays from the same point you stopped watching)

These sound like good improvements!
Update from Media Boy HQ's Virgin Media UK Sources.

The update on TiVo to the new look vod started last night to 50,000 customers.

Our Virgin Media UK Sources say tonight that TiVo's going forward will have picture based menus.

UPDATED April 14th: Cable Forum poster and Virgin Media UK worker "Spiderplant" add the following on Tuesday Morning:

TiVos in Stafford, Peterborough and part of Liverpool got the new software early this morning. No other areas are planned to get this particular version. It's an early pilot to test new the VOD features. Once the rest of the features are added, they will be piloted in other regions (assuming the first pilot goes OK).

THIS POST WAS LAUNCH ON APRIL 11TH THEN UPDATED WILL MORE INFORMATION ON APRIL 14TH.
