UK Prime Video customers will have access to premium Nordic and European series and films through a new add-on subscription to the Viaplay channel.It’s a swift return to the UK market for Viaplay, which closed its own app in May as part of a series of cost-cutting measures. Premium sports channel Viaplay Sport was sold back to previous owners Premier Sports.The new channel, available over Prime Video Channels, will include Season 2 of the hit series Threesome; the complete box set of seminal Nordic Noir The Bridge and upcoming UK premieres of Polish crime drama Murderesses and the football documentary Bendtner.Gerald Biart, Viaplay Group, VP Partnership, Growth & Marketing said the channel would feature a broad range of content: “Given the appeal of high-quality Nordic and European content and our large content inventory in the UK, we’re excited to launch the Viaplay subscription channel in the UK and give viewers access to a wide selection of premium exclusive titles.”Viaplay will be priced at a monthly £4.99 and is available through a seven-day free trial.
